Named one of the top 12 wedding photographers in NYC

“Bobbi Brown’s Personal Photographer”

I still remember when The New York Times published those words:“Bobbi Brown’s personal photographer”

…and they were talking about me. (What?!) Talk about a pivotal career moment. I’d somehow not only become connected with Bobbi Brown (yes, the Bobbi Brown of the makeup empire we all know and love)—but ultimately developed a flourishing working relationship with Bobbi and her iconic brand.

HERE’S HOW IT HAPPENED…

It doesn’t just take talent.

It takes trust.

As a photographer who’s been in the luxury space for decades—I’ve learned that working with big names and big brands takes a few things: There’s the “right place, right time” aspect—that little dash of fate and fortune. There’s the talent aspect—you have to be good (scratch that: great) at what you do.

But more than anything else, there’s trust—the innate “knowing” that happens between you and your clients when you prove you can be counted on to deliver on high-stakes projects amidst stressful environments.

It all started at a wedding…

I met Bobbi in the early 2000s during one of the rare times she was doing bridal makeup (she never does—but she had a connection to the groom). Afterward, I sent framed prints to Bobbi. She loved them so much, she asked if I would be interested in documenting New York Fashion Week. (Duh!?)

The rest, as they say…

is pinch-me! history

I went on to capture runway shows (being backstage was the definition of chaos—and I thrived amongst it), product and book launches, personal appearances, and much more for Bobbi—and some of my photographs were even published in her books.

Getting to work with Bobbi was

as good as it gets (and then some)

I got to document one of the most inspiring, intuitive, and empowering entrepreneurs I’ve ever seen—in her absolute element. She gave back to the less fortunate in meaningful ways and introduced me to an array of inspiring industry people.

But more than anything, my time with Bobbi reinforced the fact that meaningful relationships come from not just being experienced and skilled—but thoughtful and present. I’m so honored to have Bobbi as not only a client, but a true, human connection. After all, humanity is what this work is all about.

The gallery of photos below I took during NYC Fashion Weeks and on set with Bobbi during the filming of her Discovery documentary.

Here’s to many “Bobbi Brown” moments ahead for you in this work.

Every wedding is a time to celebrate the significant commitment of unconditional love for each other. The love we saw in the eyes of Elise and Richard! The Proposal After graduation from the university they both attended, Elise and Richard picked their own paths in life. An alumni event in Manhattan in 2017 reunited them […]

“Berit’s pictures are absolutely amazing and she is so easy to work with. She had so many creative ideas for all of the shots to truly capture the uniqueness of the space and the feel of the day. We regularly flip through our album and the pictures really do the tell the story and capture the emotions of our favorite day. We would highly recommend her to anyone!”

Christine and Jerry embraced the winter weather for both their engagement photos and the wedding day. They had a precise and creative vision for both, which always makes me happy as we collaborate together. Christine’s gorgeous custom-made Vera Wang gown caught the winter light just perfectly. We did some of the photos in downtown Hoboken, where the couple lives, and the rest on the beautiful mountain top at Natirar.
